Persistence of the Sciatic Artery: A Case Report of a Combined Type Causing Leg Ischemia

Persistent sciatic artery (PSA) is a rare congenital vascular anomaly, firstly described in 1832 by Green and occurring in about 0.05% of the population. In the majority of cases patients are asymptomatic, but they can develop symptoms if complications (such aneurysm or vessel thrombosis) occur.
